Is your Phone Battery always Running  Flat? How about  a Solar Powered Battery Charger?

Once I had to visit three cities across the eastern seaboard on a business trip. It involved a half dozen conference calls and other phone calls to let my family know when I would be home. Actually they never got to know when I would be back, since the battery on my Blackberry regularly dies after a hectic day, like the other bunny in the Duracell adverts. You can recharge your phone anywhere, but it takes time to charge it, and usually, the few wall sockets you see, are already taken. That's when I decided to look for other options, and found a solar powered battery charger for my phone. So now, I just get a window seat on the plane, stick the solar panel to the window, and charge away.

It is incredibly convenient for business travelers to carry their own universal solar power battery charger around with them. Solar power generation works nearly everywhere. But little dynamos also do pretty well in other places where there are medical appliances to power in an emergency situation. Laptop batteries just run flat in about four hours - but what would it look like if an emergency worker had to call it off and go get fresh batteries every once in a while? A company like Automated Media Systems pursues this market, and produces custom solar panels that can power laptops, motion picture cameras, emergency rescue equipment and lighting. The solar powered battery charger has been around for 15 years now; the panels back then were fairly inept, and unreliable but those issues have for the most part vanished since mass production in the solar panel industry has taken root.

Even a small oil-driven generator can weigh 50 pounds, is noisy and puts out much smoke. And although a solar powered battery charger may only be able to charge batteries that are not bigger than a laptop battery, the best thing might be that solar panels are not included in the Transportation Security Administration`s list of dangerous items to carry on a flight. And, if you think about it, your own little power station kind of sounds like something out of a Star Trek movie.
